Steven R. Lawyer, PhD
|
Dr. Lawyer received his Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in 1995 and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in 2002. He completed his pre-doctoral clinical internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and then a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has been at Idaho State University since 2004. Dr. Lawyer is Director of the ISU DART Lab and of the Idaho Rural Interdisciplinary Health Collaborative. Lillie Camp, MS
|
Lillie is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Clinical Psychology program. She received her B.A. with honors in Psychology and a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Lillie recently received her M.S. in Psychology from Idaho State University. Her research interests include examining factors that influence delay and probability discounting and factors that contribute to risk behaviors. She enjoys cross-stitching, puzzles, and being outside with her dog and partner.

Mollie White, BS
|
Mollie is a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, and after graduation worked as a professional research assistant at Anschutz Medical Campus. She is originally from Denver, CO but most recently lived in Oakland, CA before attending ISU. Her research interests include examining the factors involved in risky behavior and decision making (specifically in substance use and sexual activity), and possible variables impacting those relationships. Outside of school, Mollie enjoys camping and hiking, reading fantasy novels, and spending quality time with friends.

Joceyln Nichols, MA
|
Jocelyn is a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program. She received her M.A. in Psychological Sciences from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2022. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish at the University of Kentucky in 2019. In between her B.A. and M.A. she worked in substance use research at the Center for Drug and Alcohol Research at the University of Kentucky. Broadly, her research interests focus on the effects of trauma and sexual risk-taking behaviors. When not focusing on school Jocelyn enjoys hiking with her dog Norbert, embroidering or crocheting, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family.

Lauren Elmore, BA
|
Lauren is a doctoral student in the Clinical
Psychology program at ISU. She received her B.A. in Psychology with minors in Intelligence and Security Studies, Chemistry, and Creative Writing at the University of Mississippi in 2022. Her research interests primarily involve the effects of trauma on health behaviors. When not studying, Lauren enjoys writing, reading whatever book she can find, and hiking. |
Jack Maheras
|
Jack Maheras is a member in the University Honors Program and serves as the current Secretary of ISU's Psi Chi chapter. As a student in the honors program, Jack is engaged in research for an honors thesis that examines the reliability of a sexual decision questionnaire. Jack is expected to graduate with a B.S. in psychology and an A.A. in applied behavioral analysis by the end of May 2023. In his spare time, Jack can be found with his nose stuck in a book and/or consuming an unhealthy amount of coffee.

Temala Baker, BMA
|
Temala graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelors in Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and a minor in Psychology. She is currently pursuing a second Bachelor's in Psychology, working at New Leaf Psychiatric Hospital as a psychiatric tech, and preparing to apply to grad school. Some of her research interests include psychotherapy for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, trauma, and risk taking. Temala enjoys singing in Anam Cara Chamber Choir, gardening, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and kids. She also loves spending time with her German Short-haired Pointer, Beauregard, and raising chickens and ducks.

Kristen Moser
|
Kristen is in her senior year of her Bachelor degree with plans to go to grad school. Some of her research interests are substance abuse and addiction, risk taking, depression and ADHD. When not at school you can find her at the gym lifting weights or relaxing at home with her husband and two children.

Samantha Gipson
|
Samantha Gipson is an undergraduate student and member of the University Honors Program. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in psychology and expected to graduate in December of 2023 with the long-term goal of pursuing a Master’s in Counseling. In her free time, she enjoys making art and music, photography, and reading.
