ISU Discounting and Risk Taking Lab
The DART Lab mission is to use laboratory models of risky decision-making to answer important questions about human behavior. We primarily use delay and probability discounting tasks to measure commodity-specific patterns of impulsive and risky choice. Our research interests run the gamut from the methodological aspects of decision-making tasks to health-related decision-making to understanding ethical issues associated with laboratory research. We also are interested in using decision science to understand the psychological and contextual factors that place people from marginalized groups at especially high risk for human health problem behaviors.
Unfortunately, Dr. Lawyer is not taking graduate students for the fall 2024 graduate cohort.
